Golf Courses Bali Marina Guide: Tee Times & Yacht Berths

Bali has three championship golf courses — Bali National Golf Club in Nusa Dua, New Kuta Golf on the Pecatu clifftop, and Handara Golf in the Bedugul highlands — plus a marina scene anchored by Benoa Harbour today, with Kura Kura Marina (capacity around 146 yachts) opening in phases from 2026. Most golf courses Bali marina searches are really logistics questions, and logistics are what our concierge desk arranges.

This page covers all three courses, both marinas, the yachting scene that connects them, and the practical side nobody else writes down: getting a full set of clubs to a 7 a.m. tee time, keeping a driver on standby through the round, and bolting a yacht charter onto a golf week. Everything here is arranged through our group’s operating brands, active in Bali since 2015.

Bali’s three championship golf courses

Bali’s golf map is compact: one course in the Nusa Dua resort enclave, one on the Bukit Peninsula’s cliffs, and one in the cool highlands of Bedugul. Each suits a different kind of day, and each demands different transport planning.

Bali National Golf Club (Nusa Dua)

Bali National sits inside the Nusa Dua enclave, minutes from The Mulia, The St. Regis Bali, and The Apurva Kempinski. That proximity is its biggest practical advantage: guests staying at any of the Nusa Dua five-star hotels can play a morning round and be back at the resort for lunch — a half-day commitment, not a full one. It is also the course we book most often for visitors mixing golf with meetings, since Nusa Dua hosts much of Bali’s conference traffic. Green fees and tee-time availability shift with season and day of week; rates on request via WhatsApp.

New Kuta Golf (Pecatu)

New Kuta Golf is the island’s links experience, laid out on the limestone of the Bukit Peninsula in Pecatu — the same clifftop pocket that holds Bulgari Resort and Savaya. Wind off the Indian Ocean is part of the course, so scores here tell a different story than a sheltered parkland round. For guests based in Uluwatu, Pecatu, or Jimbaran, this is the obvious pick; for those staying north in Seminyak or Canggu, we plan around traffic windows and usually pair the round with a sunset plan on the Bukit rather than a drive back and forth.

Handara Golf (Bedugul)

Handara is the highland outlier. Bedugul sits well above the coast, so the air is cooler, mornings can be misty, and the course feels like a different island entirely. Treat Handara as a full-day plan: a private car with driver, an early start, the round, lunch, and an unhurried return. It is the course we recommend to golfers on a longer stay who have already played the two southern courses and want a change of climate as much as a change of layout.

Where yachts berth today: Benoa Harbour and Bali Marina

Bali’s working yachting base is Benoa Harbour, home to Bali Marina. This is where day charters depart, where crews change over, and where boats provision before longer passages east toward Komodo. It is not a glamorous waterfront — it is a functional one — and that is exactly why logistics matter more here than anywhere else on this page.

For owners, charter guests, and crew, our desk handles the land side: VIP fast-track immigration at Ngurah Rai on arrival and departure, transfers between the airport and the dock, secure transport for valuables, and 24/7 private security for superyacht guests when requested. Provisioning runs, last-minute crew movements, and late-night arrivals are routine requests, not exceptions.

Kura Kura Marina and the Serangan build-out

The next chapter of Bali yachting is under construction on Serangan Island. Kura Kura Marina, inside the 498-hectare Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (established under Government Regulation 23/2023), is planned for a capacity of around 146 yachts. Main works have been underway since April 2025, with a phased opening beginning in 2026. The location is the strongest part of the pitch: Serangan sits between Nusa Dua and Sanur, about 15 minutes by road from Ngurah Rai Airport.

The same zone is drawing capital well beyond boats. The Grand Outlet – Kura Kura Bali, a roughly US$100 million retail joint venture between Mitsubishi Estate and PT Bali Turtle Island Development, has a reported opening date of 31 July 2026 — days away at the time of writing. Our Grand Outlet guide tracks what has been confirmed so far. At government level, Coordinating Minister Airlangga said in May 2026 that the zone is targeted as a financial-sector SEZ, including a financial center and a family office scheme with special incentives, following a directive from President Prabowo to develop it into the Indonesia Financial Center. For yacht owners, the read-through is simple: a berth on Serangan will sit next to retail, finance, and the airport, not in isolation.

Golf courses Bali marina guests can reach the same day

If you are berthed at Benoa or, in time, at Kura Kura Marina, the golf geography works strongly in your favor. Bali National in Nusa Dua is the closest championship course to both harbours and the easiest to fold into a boat schedule — off the boat after breakfast, on the tee mid-morning, back aboard by mid-afternoon. New Kuta Golf on the Bukit is a longer run by road but still comfortably a same-day plan with a driver holding at the clubhouse. Handara is the one we do not recommend squeezing between sailing days; it deserves its own day.

The reverse itinerary works too. Golfers staying ashore who want a day on the water can step from a morning round at Bali National to an afternoon departure out of Benoa. We coordinate the handoff — clubs go back to the villa or hotel with the driver while you board.

Tee-time logistics with a private driver

Golf transport in Bali has one non-negotiable requirement: luggage space that swallows full tour bags without folding seats flat. From our group’s fleet at Bali Premium Trip, the Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, and HiAce Premio are the workhorses for golf days — three or four bags, cold water, and room for the group to sit comfortably on the return leg. A private driver stays with the vehicle through your round, which means no ride-hailing roulette at a clubhouse 40 minutes from anywhere.

What a well-run golf day looks like when we plan it:

  • Early pickup, planned route. Southern Bali traffic is directional; we set departure times around it, especially for Pecatu and Bedugul runs.
  • Clubs handled door to door. Bags loaded at the villa, unloaded at the bag drop, and returned without you touching them.
  • Driver on standby. The car does not leave. Mid-round weather call? You have an exit.
  • The day continues. The same car rolls into an afternoon plan — a luxury transfer to a beach club, a dinner reservation, or the airport with fast-track departure handling.
  • Vehicle upgrades for non-golf legs. For evenings, the fleet runs from Mercedes and BMW through to a Rolls-Royce Ghost; rates on request.

The yacht charter add-on

A golf trip and a charter combine more naturally in Bali than most visitors expect, because both start from the same southern corridor. Day cruising departs from Benoa; longer itineraries head east to Komodo National Park, where our group’s Komodo Luxury operates its own phinisi fleet — including Komodo Prestige and Komodo Signature — across VVIP, VIP, and Deluxe tiers, with Bali-to-Komodo packages that begin and end with land transfers we control door to door. The full picture of vessels, tiers, and routing is in our Bali yacht charter guide.

For guests short on time, we also arrange helicopter transfers and scenic flights through the same group, which turns a two-and-a-half-hour road leg into a fraction of that. A typical week we build for a golf-and-water client: two southern rounds early in the week, a rest day, then a two- or three-night Komodo departure — every connection pre-booked, one WhatsApp thread for the whole plan.

Frequently asked questions

Which Bali golf course should I play first?

For most visitors, Bali National Golf Club in Nusa Dua — the logistics are the easiest on the island, especially if you are staying in Nusa Dua or Sanur. Choose New Kuta Golf first if links golf and ocean cliffs are the point of your trip, and save Handara in Bedugul for a full-day highland outing.

How do I get my clubs to the course?

We assign a Toyota Alphard, Vellfire, or HiAce Premio with a private driver — vehicles that take multiple tour bags without compromise. Bags are loaded at your villa or hotel, dropped at the clubhouse, and the driver stays on standby through the round. Rates on request via WhatsApp.

Where do yachts berth in Bali right now?

Benoa Harbour, home to Bali Marina, is the established base for charters, crew changes, and provisioning. Kura Kura Marina on Serangan Island — planned for around 146 yachts — has been under main construction since April 2025, with a phased opening beginning in 2026.

When will Kura Kura Marina open?

The developer’s stated plan is a phased opening from 2026, with main works underway since April 2025. Berth booking procedures and pricing have not been fully announced; we monitor the project and can brief you on the current status via WhatsApp.

Is there golf near The Grand Outlet – Kura Kura Bali?

Yes. Serangan Island sits between Nusa Dua and Sanur, which puts Bali National Golf Club in Nusa Dua closest of the three championship courses. A morning round followed by an afternoon at the outlet — which has a reported opening date of 31 July 2026 — is a straightforward same-day plan with one driver.

Can I combine a golf week with a Komodo yacht charter?

Yes, and it is one of our most requested combinations. We schedule your southern-Bali rounds early in the week, then hand you into a Komodo Luxury phinisi departure — Bali-to-Komodo packages include the land transfers, so clubs and luggage are handled between every leg.
