- The Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur junction
Our rating is an opinion, not a measurement. It weighs how easily you reach the door, whether the tenant list is real and checkable, whether prices are marked, how much English is spoken on the floor, and how much of a day the place actually fills.
This is the oldest mall in the guide by nearly a decade, and it reads as a mall for people who live here rather than one built for visitors. That is not a criticism, but it does change what you should expect to find.
What it actually is
A practical mall in the one place on the island where three tourist districts meet, which is most of its argument.
It is on the way to everything
Simpang Siur is the junction where the roads to Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur separate. Fifteen minutes from the airport and roughly twenty from three districts.
Built around errands
Matahari for clothes, Hypermart for groceries, a pharmacy, an optician, a bookshop. This is where you replace a charger, not where you browse.
A cinema that fills an evening
Cinema XXI runs current international and Indonesian releases, and tickets cost a fraction of what they do at home.
Local prices, not tourist ones
The pricing is aimed at people who live in Denpasar and Kuta, which shows most clearly in the food court.

What is inside
Three anchors carry the building. Beyond them no tenant directory is published, so what follows is categories rather than a brand list.
Department store
- Matahari
Supermarket
- Hypermart
Cinema
- Cinema XXI
Fashion
- Local boutiques
- mid-tier chains
- menswear
- womenswear
- childrenswear
Electronics
- Mobile phones

- personal care
Food and drink
- Food court

Specialty
- Books
- stationery
- toys
- souvenirs
If you are coming for one specific shop, ask the desk first. A mall this old turns over its smaller units regularly and nobody publishes the list.
Getting there
On the bypass at Simpang Siur, which is both why it is easy to reach and why the junction outside it queues.
Ngurah Rai airport
- Drive time
- About 15 minutes
- Notes
- Straight up the bypass, no town driving
Kuta and Seminyak
- Drive time
- 15 to 25 minutes
- Notes
- The junction outside is the slow part
Nusa Dua
- Drive time
- 20 to 30 minutes
- Notes
- Toll road most of the way
Sanur
- Drive time
- 20 to 30 minutes
- Notes
- The reason this mall gets Sanur traffic
Ubud
- Drive time
- 60 to 90 minutes
- Notes
- Not worth the trip on its own
T Galleria sits on the same stretch of bypass a few minutes away, which makes the two an easy pair if you are heading for the airport afterwards.
Who it is right for
A practical mall in a useful place. That is the whole recommendation, and it is worth more than it sounds.
Go if you want
- To fix something A charger, a swimsuit, sunscreen, a prescription. Everything practical is under one roof.
- Groceries Hypermart is the largest supermarket of any mall in this guide, and useful if you are self-catering.
- A cinema evening Cinema XXI, current releases, at a fraction of the price you would pay at home.
- To break a journey It sits where the roads to Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur split, so it is genuinely on the way.
Go elsewhere if you want
- International brands Beachwalk in Kuta is where those are. This mall does not carry them.
- A day out An hour covers it. Trans Studio has the theme park if you need the day filled.
- Balinese craft Almost none. Krisna is ten minutes away on the same bypass and is built for exactly that.
- Duty-free T Galleria is a separate building on the same road, and the only tax-exempt floor in Bali.
Mal Bali Galleria questions
Compare the mallsIs it air-conditioned?
We are not going to state one. The published descriptions of this mall contradict each other, calling it an open-air concept in one place and an air-conditioned escape from the heat in another. The anchors are certainly enclosed and cooled.
Is this a luxury mall?
No. It is mid-tier and aimed at residents. For designer labels the answer is Seminyak, and for duty-free it is T Galleria on the same road.
What makes the location useful?
Simpang Siur is where the roads to Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur separate, and the airport is about fifteen minutes down the bypass. It is one of the few malls that is genuinely on the way somewhere.
Is it good for families?
Yes, practically rather than as an outing. Cinema, food court, supermarket and a department store covers most of what a family needs in an afternoon.
Are there Balinese products?
A few souvenir units, but not the reason to come. Krisna is a short drive along the same bypass and carries the range this does not.
Concierge desk
Three stops on one road
T Galleria and Krisna are both on this stretch of the bypass, and the airport is at the end of it. That is a departure day that gets everything done.
