Our rating is an opinion, not a measurement. It weighs how easily you reach the door, whether the tenant list is real and checkable, whether prices are marked, how much English is spoken on the floor, and how much of a day the place actually fills.

The theme park is ticketed separately from the mall, and its hours are shorter at both ends. Check them before building an afternoon around it.

What it actually is

A large indoor mall in Denpasar with a theme park built into it, developed by Trans Corp on a site that previously traded as a Transmart Carrefour.

The theme park is the reason

Trans Studio Bali covers about 1.8 hectares with 16 rides and shows across themed zones including a Hollywood Boulevard. Tickets run Ask For Price.

Genuinely large

About 120,000 square metres over three levels. It is the biggest enclosed retail floor in this guide by a wide margin.

Fully indoors

Enclosed and cooled throughout, which is the practical difference between this and the open-air malls in Kuta on a wet afternoon.

In Denpasar, not the resorts

About ten kilometres from the airport and twenty minutes from Kuta. Most visitors here are Balinese, which changes the prices and the food.

Family shopping in a Bali mall
The theme park is what separates a two-hour mall visit from a whole day, and it is why families come this far inland.

What is inside

No tenant directory has been published for this mall, so what follows is facilities and categories rather than a brand list.

Theme park

  • Trans Studio Bali
  • 1.8 hectares
  • 16 rides and shows

  • CGV Cinemas

Other entertainment

  • Arcade
  • karaoke

Fashion

  • Fast fashion

For a building with over 200 tenants, no published directory is a real gap, and it is the main reason this page cannot tell you whether a specific shop is here. Ask the desk and we check before you drive to Denpasar.

Getting there

Inland in west Denpasar, which is further than most visitors expect and the reason to make it the day rather than a stop.

Ngurah Rai airport

Drive time
20 to 30 minutes
Notes
About 10 km

Central Kuta

Drive time
15 to 20 minutes
Notes
The easiest run of the lot

Seminyak

Drive time
25 to 40 minutes
Notes
Ride-hail quotes the fare before you book

Nusa Dua

Drive time
40 to 60 minutes
Notes
Long enough that a driver makes sense

Ubud

Drive time
60 to 90 minutes
Notes
Only if the theme park is the plan

Kura-Kura Bus routes pass reasonably close but do not stop at the mall, so a short connecting ride is needed either way. With children and a theme park day, a car that waits is the sane option.

Who it is right for

One clear reason to come and one clear reason not to. Both are easy to check before you book the car.

Go if you want

  • A day with children 16 rides and shows indoors, plus a cinema and an arcade in the same building. Nothing else in Bali does this.
  • Rain Fully enclosed and cooled. In January this is the difference between a day out and a hotel room.
  • Scale About 120,000 square metres over three levels, which is more floor than the Kuta malls put together.
  • Local prices Most people here live in Denpasar, and the food court is priced for them rather than for visitors.

Go elsewhere if you want

  • A specific shop No tenant directory is published, so nobody can tell you in advance whether it is here.
  • Luxury houses The page's own source concedes there is no Louis Vuitton or Chanel. T Galleria is the answer.
  • The beach This is inland Denpasar. Beachwalk and Discovery are the malls on the sand.
  • A quick errand Twenty to forty minutes each way from the resorts. Too far to be convenient for one purchase.

Trans Studio questions

Compare the malls
Is the theme park included with entry?

No. The mall is free to enter and Trans Studio Bali is ticketed separately, at Ask For Price. Its hours are also shorter: 11:00 to 20:00 against the mall's 10:00 to 22:00.

How big is the theme park?

About 1.8 hectares with 16 rides and shows across themed zones, including one styled as a Hollywood Boulevard. It is indoors, which is the whole point in the wet season.

Which brands are in the mall?

We cannot tell you, and we are not going to guess. No tenant directory has been published for a building the operator says holds over 200 shops. Ask the desk and we check before you travel.

When did it open?

Published accounts disagree, giving both 2018 and late 2019 for what may be two different events. The site traded as a Transmart Carrefour before the current mall; beyond that we are not prepared to state a year.

How far is it from Kuta?

Fifteen to twenty minutes in ordinary traffic, and about ten kilometres from the airport. From Nusa Dua allow up to an hour.

A theme park day needs a car that waits

Denpasar is twenty to forty minutes out and a park day runs long. A driver holding the car removes the part of this plan that goes wrong at six in the evening with tired children.
